MedLawPlus is a service that features legal, medical and financial professionals as well as an online legal forms center. You can anonymously get price quotes emailed to you from as many as seven doctors, attorneys, accountants or other professionals. In addition, MedLawPlus offers a fairly small selection of legal forms that primarily address estate and business matters. MedLawPlus is easy to use and no downloading is required. Your finished documents are emailed to you.

The legal forms this service offers carry reasonable price tags, and these are displayed immediately with the title of the document. MedLawPlus uses an online interview style questionnaire to assist you in filling out the form you have chosen. You simply put answers to questions in the correct fields and the computer does the rest.

MedLawPlus provides you with a sample version of your completed form that you can view prior to buying it. This is a nonprintable version of the document. Be aware that there are no guarantees associated with the legal forms, and MedLawPlus states it does not provide legal advice. In fact, it encourages its customers to "have all documents created on our site reviewed by an attorney."

A convenient question mark feature next to some terms and questions provides you with explanations and definitions of legal jargon during the process of filling out the forms. The information opens in a separate window, making it easy to move back and forth.

MedLawPlus offers a unique service called Professional Request for Proposal (RFP). This program allows you to place an inquiry about a medical, legal or financial matter, and a selection of interested doctors, lawyers or accountants in your area will send you a proposal regarding your case. These professionals have submitted background information and credentials, but MedLawPlus does not independently confirm those representations.

The organization of the documents is not clear. It is divided between the three main categories –medical, legal and financial – but within those categories, they are not in alphabetical order. MedLawPlus does not have a search capability on the website.

You must register with MedLawPlus to purchase a form. To register, you must accept the standard terms and conditions and then fill out your name, state, ZIP code and email address. Documents are available in PDF and Word 2000 formats.

The website also has a FAQs page and articles about legal issues. MedLawPlus does not provide a telephone number for customer service. They have an email address so you can ask the website administrator questions, but it is not a place to ask legal advice.

After you have purchased a form, your information remains in MedLawPlus’s database for 60 days. Within those 60 days, you can get back on the website and update information on your form free of charge. You may also save the document onto your PC hard drive.

Even though the navigation is confusing, the documents are professional. The explanations accompanying the form questions are helpful and the library is a good resource. It is convenient that MedLawPlus keeps your information for 60 days in case you need to update information on your forms. One drawback is the relatively narrow selection of legal forms.
