LawDepot boasts one of the easiest online legal forms services on the internet. You can complete all its forms online using a simple-to-follow interview style questionnaire that will help you get everything finished properly. You also can preview the forms at no cost.
LawDepot, which won our TopTenREVIEWS Silver Award, offers an array of documents that can be used in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia.
LawDepot has key documents within a wide range of legal categories. You can find the legal forms for wills, a rental agreement form, a power of attorney form, a living will form and more.
All of the legal forms are designed to be filled out online using a question-and-answer style questionnaire. When you have finished filling in all the required fields, submit your answers and they will send you a legal form that is tailored to your needs. LawDepot allows you to complete and preview your document before you pay for it.
As you work through the questionnaire to fill out your legal forms, you'll notice that some of the questions have question mark icons next to them. When you mouse over the question mark, a bubble pops up that explains legal definitions and gives additional you information to further clarify the question you're working on.
LawDepot has a fair selection of legal forms for the U.S. and Canada, although it is not quite as extensive as some other online legal document sites. They also have a small assortment of forms for the U.K. and Australia. All of LawDepot's legal forms are state-specific but not all forms are available in all states. They guarantee that all documents are valid and up-to-date and will pay 100 dollars to the first person who finds a flaw with one of their forms.
LawDepot has many resources to assist you in your legal matters. These include legal dictionaries, both U.S. and Canadian, as well as a legal FAQs section and preparation services.
The LawDepot Law Library, located under the LawDepot Menu tab at the top of the screen, will take you to many of the site’s additional resources, including a glossary of terms, an FAQs page, pertinent articles and descriptions of recent changes to the website. While the pop-up help that is available directly on the legal forms and questionnaires may negate the need for a legal dictionary, it is a handy tool nonetheless.
For an additional fee, LawDepot will review your forms for you. They call this their Peace of Mind Review. Their trained staff members know what a court will and will not allow. Small details such as misspelled words or format errors can sometimes be enough for a court to void a legal document.
This is one of the most user-friendly legal services we found. The interview-style forms leave little room for error. You simply answer the questions and a form is generated specifically for you. The website interface is clean and attractive, and everything is clearly labeled. In general, you can locate anything you need on this site. However, occasionally it takes a few extra mouse clicks and some searching to find resources such as legal dictionaries.
One helpful feature on the website is the ability to save your legal forms. If you cannot complete them in one sitting, you can come back to them later. They are saved in your account.
The documents are available in different formats depending on the type of form. Some are PDFs, and others are HTML or Word documents. Select documents are available in all three formats. When you have purchased and completed your legal forms, you can either print them or file them electronically, depending on the procedure required by the court.
One frustrating feature is that the pricing information is not visible along with the titles of the documents. It takes several clicks of the mouse, along with some scrolling, to get the information. You can find the cost of the legal forms by clicking on the document and continuing to the order section. If you choose to buy it, you can return to the questionnaire page and start filling out the necessary information.
Individual forms are priced according to their complexity. For example, a bill of sale is cheaper than an LLC Operating Agreement Order. You can buy some combinations of forms in packages, such as Divorce and Separation, which typically include more than one document.
When you are ready to buy your forms, you can choose from three options. The first is the Basic option where you have access to that document for two weeks and you can use it once. It comes along with standard telephone and email technical support.
The second option is Platinum. You have unlimited uses of the legal forms for one year. In addition to that, you receive high priority telephone and email technical support. They will also store your answers for five years.
The Site Subscription is the third option. This allows you to use their specified documents as many times as you would like for three months at a time. Similar to the Platinum option, you get high priority technical support and they store your answers for five years. However, this subscription does not give you access to their entire database of legal forms. Another thing to remember is that the subscription automatically renews at the end of the three months. If you want to end the subscription, you can log in to your account, click on the subscription tab and stop the automatic renewal.
Customer support is available through telephone and email. We found that LawDepot’s FAQs section answered many of our questions , so for most issues you likely won't have to contact the company. In addition, this service has an online chat feature, so an online representative can answer your questions quickly and politely.
LawDepot provides an easy-to-use and straightforward approach to legal forms. The only real drawback is that you cannot see the pricing of the document until you are at the purchase page. Still, this service is great for consumers who have very little knowledge of the law. Their Peace of Mind review option makes this website a better choice than other sites that simply sell legal forms.
There is a large selection of forms and the option of having a preparation service review your documents.
The pricing for the documents is not visible until you get to the purchase options page.
This online legal forms service covers the bases of having plenty of definitions, preparation assistance and resources.
